#5 Couple: Courtney Matthews & Jasper Jax

...Trouble Brewing for Courtney & Jax!
The return of Courtney's ex-husband, A.J., throws a monkey wrench into her life. "Not only does it affect her romance with Jax, but it becomes a life-and-death situation for Courtney and for people she loves," says Guza. "She has to fight it herself. This time, she can't go to Sonny or Jason."

#4 Couple: Courtney Matthews & Jasper Jacks!

Fans aren't sure that Courtney is really over Jason and fear that Jax may be risking a broken heart by falling for her.
The readers have responded to the question, "Is Jax the right man for Courtney? 54% say "Of Course Not" while 46% say "Of Course."
However, in the Readers' Poll, Courtney and Jax are Couple #4.

Reality Check. If GH's Courtney and Jax are any indication, maybe blondes really do have more fun. Case in point:
Readers' Poll: Couple #10: Courtney Matthews and Jasper Jax, GH
- Would a nun really give Courtney a full habit to disguise herself? That would be like a cop giving someone his uniform or a doctor handing over her scrubs!
- Jax can actually set up camp in the hallway of her building and yell through the door without neighbors being suspicious or telling him to beat it?
- Would the Department of Social Services really hand a teenage boy over to a hot, young female, even if it was "temporary"? Don't think so.
Couple #8: Courtney Matthews & Jasper Jax
The results of the last poll, "Will sleeping with Jax help Courtney get over Jason?" were 82%: Totally and 18%: No Way.
Top Couple: Courtney Matthews & Jasper Jax
Fans continue to debate whether Courtney is better off with Jason or Jax.
"Soap newcomer Ignacio Serricchio has been cast on GH in the role of Diego, a handsome young man who will figure into Jax and Courtney's storyline beginning Friday, October 1.
At the time that Soaps In Depth conducted its Fall Preview interview with GH's co-headwriters, Robert Guza Jr. and Charles Pratt Jr., they both were a bit secretive about the show's plans for Diego, who at the time had yet to be cast. 'This new teen will start off in a completely different venue before he gravitates toward the other kids,' is all that Guza was at liberty to reveal.
"...As previously reported, Wally Kurth (Ned, GH) is the lucky guy who will spend a day with a different daytime star every week on SOAPnet's appropriately-titled 1 DAY WITH...series. TAgging along for the featured actor's entire itinerary, Kurth will offer fans a candid look at their favorites doing what they love most and are most passionate about. Now, Soaps in Depth has learned that when 1 DAY WITH premieres on Saturday, September 4, at 6:30 p.m. EST, Kurth will be handing out with none other than his GH pal, Ingo Rademacher (Jax)...."
Readers' Poll: #4 Couple: Jax and Courtney!
This section has wedding day disasters from many soaps and includes pictures of Jax and Brenda and Jax and Skye.
There is a picture of Jax and Brenda kissing on the beach after he accepted her marriage proposal. The article says the ring he gave her would have cost $30,000; however, the one used on the show cost only $339. Quite a difference!
The answers to the questions posed by SID were on the IRME in the Ingo section on Sunday, August 1. Good luck!
The magazine had asked if fans would like to see Courtney and Jax start a real relationship. 82% said to give it a try, and 18% said to give it up.
Counting His Blessings. Eight years ago, Ingo Rademacher (Jax) was a virtual unknown in America. Then, GENERAL HOSPITAL happened. "It was my first gig and my face was on TV all the time!" recalls the Aussie, who until moving to the states only had starred in a series "Down Under" called PARADISE BEACH. Although the sudden fame was initially a shock to his system, looking back, Rademacher is grateful for the shift it brought about. "GH wasn't just any daytime show - it was the most popular and the best daytime show on television, and it had been for the longest time. So, coming in with a really strong character like Jax opened up doors for other things> It takes a while to get recognized, not just in daytime but also in the nighttime world. GH opened up my whole life here. It gave me a green card, a house, security. It allowed me to bring my family out here. I have a lot to thank for being on this show. It changed my life." In an inset, it says as a fact that a preteen Rademacher was a professional equestrian in jumping, dressage and cross country.
The Message Board section for General Hospital is devoted to Jax and Courtney. This is a must-read. The topics of the messages are: "It's a Win-Win Situation For Courtney," "Show Me The Money!", "Jax Brings Out The Best In Courtney," "Have You Ever Seen Courtney Smile So Much?", "Don't Mess This Up!", "Wake Up Courtney!", "A Match Made In Heaven," "Sleep With Him Already!", "Either Way, She's a Winner."
79% say they want Courtney with Jax. See what they have to say:

Ingo's Photo Shoot for the Humane Society of the United States. Move your cursor over the image and watch it change.
The article describes what will happen on all the soaps for February Sweeps. For Jax's part on general Hospital, we find:
"Courtney finally lets go [of Jason]. The truth is, she's loved Jax for a long time; she just had so much emotional baggage that she hasn't been able to see it. She finally comes to that realization and tells him. And yes, they get engaged."
This article is a result of the magazine cover. The majority of the article is about Jason and Sam, so we will not type it here. However, it says about Jax and Courtney: ..."and when she turns around, there are the waiting arms of Jax, who completely understands." Continues Head Writer Robert Guza, Jr., "What Jason basically does is free Courtney up. That propels her to get to this new level, which opens a romance with Jax that's going to be in full force." The cover and article feature three pictures of Jax and Courtney you may not have seen. We have incorporated them in a slide show. The slides will advance every ten seconds - or you can click the images at the left of your screen to move at your own pace.
Hot Off the Net: Favorite Actor for General Hospital: Ingo Rademacher!!!!!
This week's question: For a future Love IT/Hate It, Digest wants to know: Should GH's Courtney be with Jason or Jax? You can cast your vote at VOTE in the Love It/Hate It Poll
General Hospital's Ingo Rademacher hits the beach for exercise. "I love surfing," he grins. "It's such a great workout, and it's also very relaxing. I try to get out into the ocean whenever I can. I moved to Venice [CA] so I could be closer to the beach."
New Year's Rockin' Eve reviews the behind-the-scenes action (costumes, sets, etc.) for the New Year's Eve party.
GH Costume Designer Sara Markowitz says, "...While the men all don tuxedos, each one is unique. Jax is in a backless suit ("We had to line it for our purposes in Daytime," Markowitz grins), for example,..."
Near the end of the article, the GH Set Designed, Dan Proett, discusses the elegance of Metro Court. "it's very sophisticated and very sleek since it's Jax's gift for Courtney," he points out. "It's kind of their palate, actually -- blonde and blue."
The (Semi) Truth Between GH’s Ingo Rademacher and Alicia Leigh Willis’s Love/Hate Relationship…On and Off Screen.
If you’re hoping to read a serious conversation between GH’s Ingo and Alicia about their blossoming romance, dream on. As soon as we gather in Willis’s dressing room, the laughter begins and the sarcasm flies. At some points, even we don’t know what’s fact and what’s fiction (their secret love affair?). What we do know is that this reel-life duo is funny, fearless, and full of crazy stories.
SOD: Did you two know each other well before you started working together?
ALW: Actually, we had already kissed in our screen test. I screen tested with him because they originally were going to put us together.
IR: That was a long time ago. How long was that?
ALW: Three years. We had our first kiss three years ago.
SOD: Why did they drop the pairing?
ALW: Things were going so well with Skye and Jax that they decided against it.
SOD: So, what did you think when the show decided to revisit Courtney and Jax?
IR: She was shocked, I think.
ALW: I thought they might originally come back to it.
IR (to Willis): I’m trying to remember how we came about.
ALW: You tried to buy my business.
IR: Why?
ALW: Because you wanted my business.
IR: Really? What happened? Did you sell it?
ALW: I have to remind him of everything.
IR: Chicks remember these kinds of things better, anyway.
ALW: Chicks. How can you resist him?
SOD: What were your first impressions of each other.
IR: I used to like her.
ALW: He did. He had a crush on me.
IR: I did. No, I just thought that she was cool and everything. We got along when we first met. Now, we don’t.
ALW: We hate each other (laughs).
SOD: Did you think this relationship would turn into a real romance?
ALW: I definitely didn’t expect the response we’ve gotten.
IR: What am I, chopped liver? Look, they had this planned right from the start. I am surprised that it’s worked so well…because Alicia and I really don’t like each other on set (laughs).
SOD: Ingo, were you upset that Jax’s romance with Sam was cut short?
IR: That storyline was plot-driven around the stupid cards, then it was about the stupid treasure. It was never really a romantic thing.
SOD: Now that you’re in a successful pairing, do you feel as though your character has been given new life?
IR: Well, I’m working more. The problem is, if Alicia doesn’t start treating me nicer, the whole thing is going to fall apart (laughs). Seriously, this could be a couple they might actually male into a COUPLE and keep it for awhile.
ALW: It’s fun. We have fun doing this.
IR: Yeah, but then you have to move past the games and move onto the fun stuff you have in a relationship. The writers always like to throw issues and problems in there constantly instead of just showing a real relationship, which I think these two can really have.
SOD: Alicia, fans have noticed that your character has become happier.
ALW: I think she’s happier in general because she’s found herself and she’s got this foundation and she’s a proud mom of a 17 year old kid (laughs).
SOD: What do you think of being a foster parent?
ALW: To be honest, that’s not my favorite storyline. I love Ignacio. He’s great, but the story could have been told a lot better.
SOD: Is it hard to be a love story with someone other than Steve Burton, especially when fans still want Jason and Courtney together?
ALW: It’s not hard, it’s just different. I have a lot of fun working with Ingo, and yeah, there are a lot of Jason/Courtney fans who still want them to get back together. But I hope they give this storyline a chance…just like I hope they give the Jason/Sam storyline a chance.
SOD: Courtney and Jax finally slept together. What was it like filming those love scenes?
IR: I love doing love scenes!
ALW: Yeah, he loves them.
SOD: Those were pretty hot.
ALW: I had never done a real love scene before…like, EVER.
IR: (to Digest) Was it good?
SOD: It was. There was a music montage.
ALW: I didn’t see it, but I was very embarrassed. You know, doing that in front of everybody on the set.
IR: She’s very unprofessional when it comes to love scenes. I’ve done so many that I’m a pro at it!
ALW: Yeah, he’s such a pro. He walked into the shower scene with his underwear up his butt (laughs)!
IR: (to Willis) That wasn’t for you.
ALW: I'm the luckiest girl in the whole wide world because I get to make out with Ingo! (laughs)
IR: Alicia always comes running into my dressing room saying “Ingo, Ingo! Guess what? We have a kissing scene today!
ALW: Oh, yes. I actually have his picture under my pillow at home so I can dream about him. I'm like "I get to kiss Ingo Rademacher tomorrow!"
SOD: You guys are very sarcastic together. Do you bring this into your onscreen relationship?
IR: (to Willis) Does she know about our offscreen relationship? We’re secretly in love. We’ve been dating for awhile.
ALW: No! You can’t say that because people are going to believe it.
IR: You know, it’s great because we hang around on the weekends with each other…
ALW: We never hang out! You’re such a liar (laughs).
SOD: So you don’t really hang out?
ALW: No, I need time away from here. And we don’t live anywhere near each other.
IR: When I moved to Venice, she moved far away (laughs).
SOD: Do you give each other dating advice?
IR: She’s about as good with dating advice as she is with doing love scenes.
ALW: Which means I’m freaking great!
IR: Yeah, we talk about stuff. I have the utmost respect for Alicia. I love her; I think she's a great actress and she's beautiful.
ALW: Awwww…Now, I don’t know whether or not to take him seriously (laughs)! Is he being serious or is he being Ingo?
SOD: Do you prefer blondes or brunettes?
IR: Me, personally, I like them all. When it comes to women, it’s really just the entire package for me. If Alicia weren’t on the show, I’d probably be pursuing her heavily.
ALW: And I’d be running (laughs). Oh, and I prefer brunettes!
![]() | Cover Me On the cover '97 Preview Starring: (l-r)Lisa Rinna (Taylor, Melrose Place; ex-Billie, Days), Ingo Rademacher (Jax, GH) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, Young and Restless) What you Don't Know: The red gown that Rinna wore was from her own closet. She caught Rademacher with his pants down: "I just met Ingo a few minutes ago. And I must say I was quite rude," she said. "I thought I saw Austin and ran in, but didn't see Ingo with his pants down. I said, 'Excuse me. Oh, I"m sorry. I don't know you.' And he said, 'Well, aren't you going to introduce yourself?' And he's standing there without his pants on and all I could think of to say was, 'Uh, oh, yeah. Hi, I'm Lisa.'" |
Although there has been a lot of chatter that Ingo Rademacher is leaving GH, the Aussie assures readers, not to believe the hype. “I don’t have any plans right now to leave the show when my contract is up,” Rademacher reports. “I’m locked in here for a while.”
In an interview with the Australian publication The Sunday Mail, the actor hinted at a possible exit from GH when he said, “I’m burnt out. All I have done in the last 10 years is go to work.” Rademacher went on to say that he wants to return to Australia and buy a farm or to make some films with meaning. “What I said was that eventually I would like to have a farm again,” he clarifies. “It was an Australian journalist who did the interview, and when she asked, “Would you consider Australia?” I said, “Absolutely. If I was to be going back to Australia, I would look into buying a farm.’”
The actor says that he is very happy with his storyline right now and isn’t even contemplating what will happen once his contract expires. “We’re not even close to negotiating the next deal yet,” he admits. “It’s going to be quite a while before we even think about that kind of thing.”
Grapevine/Casing Aboutdiscussed the article from the Australian publication, The Sunday Mail (above on this page). A GH spokesperson had no comment.
Courtney and Jax have a very strong attraction. Their consummation? The issue will be addressed. Diego will be a barrier at first, but he's going to spiral into different stories away from Courtney and Jax. He has a secret. It's a caper -- that the teens and others are going to be involved in.
There is an article about Jax and Courtney which expresses the feelings of many.

In this interview, Alicia Leigh Willis says, "I love working with Ingo [Rademacher, Jax]," Willis grins. "He's hysterical and we have a lot of fun. It's actually turned out to be a really good thing, because my character was always upset and crying. It's just nice for her to get back to a happy place."
This article appears in the late-breaking news section and says:
"Jax decides to call off the et on GH this week when he realizes that he is falling for Courtney. 'Real feelings are coming into play, and he thinks the bet is getting in the way,' says Ingo Rademacher (Jax. 'It could be detrimental to their future relationship, so he wants to fix it now.'
But what about Courtney? 'She wants to win the bet fair and square,' grins portrayer Alicia Leigh Willis. 'There is not doubt in her mind that she'll win. She has no intention of sleeping with him.' Although Courtney is attracted to Jax, there is still the ex factor. 'She's still getting over Jason. It's hard to make that leap, and she can't do it...yet,' says Willis.
Jax, on the other hand, is ready to dive in headfirst--and give up $10 million. 'He was going to give her the money anyway,' the actor admits. 'It's not about the money. Sticking it to Sonny is still there; that's an added bonus [laughs]. But he didn't think he was going to care for Courtney like this.'
Courtney realizes that it's not about the money, but she is still cautious. 'She's a little jaded,' explains Willis. 'But being romanced is also nice, too. Jax makes her feel like a princess. It's exciting and fun.'
So, the bet will go on--for now--which is okay with Jax. 'At first he's disheartened because he thought she'd agree to calling it off,' Rademacher admits. 'But then he realizes that she is enjoying spending time with him and just wants to take things slow.' How long will that last? 'Their attraction keeps growing and growing,' Willis sighs. 'It is getting harder to resist him.' "
Editor's Choice: The Road To Romance, General Hospital. This article focuses on the romances of Jax and Courtney, Jason and Sam, and Ric and Alexis. The follows is about Jax and Courtney:
....Gone are the days inundated with gunfights and explosions, as well as stagnant couples. Instead, we've been treated to light and lively pairings that have rejuvenated the canvas. Romance--or something like it--is back in Port Charles, thanks to daring new parings that have us smiling.
Take Jax and Courtney, whose friendly wager has made them a duo worth betting on. Ingo rademacher (Jax) is back to his old tricks as the slick Aussie charmer out to win over one woman at a time with a wink and a smile. For the first time in years, the actor looks like he is actually excited about his storyline. And Courtney, who for months was a tormented mope, is calling the shots, and having fun! As Courtney and Jax flirted shamelessly in Italy, she kept his ego in check. "There's real passion here, romance. The place is irresistible--like you," Jax grinned. "Well, then...let's not waste any more time," Courtney shyly replied. "Because we have lots of sightseeing to do! " Advantage: Courtney....
Bond Ambition. In the Thumbs Up & Down section, there is a "Thumbs Up" for Jax and Courtney!
"We saw sparks fly between Courtney and Jax from miles away. Now, happily, GH has followed up with a story for this surprisingly compatible couple.
Adding a fun and lively romance is just what the doctor ordered to lighten the mob-tinged soap. Sure, Courtney and Jax's relationship is based on a playful bet (he hs to get her in bed within three months or else donate $10 million to her charity). But their flirtatious banter and sizzling sex appeal has us wanting more. Of course, there's more to this twosome than meets the eye: Court and Jax have similarly been burned by love -- and Sonny, and they're each in need of a shoulder to lean on. Jax, with a well-deserved story of his own, compliments Courtney ... who is happy for a change. How refreshing.
Whether or not Jax is an obstacle in Courtney's "journey" to true love with Jason remains to be seen. But from what we've seen so far, Court and Jax ("Casper") have the potential to be so much more.

The late December 2004 issue has an article about Ingo entitled Mr. Nice Guy where he discusses the types of roles he has played and would prefer not to play.
In mid July, Soap Opera Weekly Online featured an article about Ingo at "Heal the Bay." You can view the article by following this link: "A Day At the Beach with Ingo Rademacher."
This is an interview with Steve Burton and Kelly Monaco. When asked how he feels about taking his shirt off, Steve Burton said, "I'm getting old. I've been here a long time and I like doughnuts. I'm not...let Jax take off his shirt." Kelly Monaco's reply was "What a cop-out!" Then Steve Burton said, "That guy's built. He's got a great body. Let him take off his shirt, and Ned and Mac...."
Jax and Courtney? Courtney is going to have a big story and Jax will be right by her side supporting her. I say "supporting" because this will be a Courtney-driven story.
Courtney needs to forge a life with good guy Jax and forget Jason.

What's your Favorite Holiday Ritual? ![]() |
Newsflash for women everywhere: Ingo Rademacher is about to be married. At the time of the interview, he was preparing to wed one of his houseguests, a young lady who had popped the question to him during her extended stay. They were in the midst of pulling together an impromptu ceremony at his home when the reporter arrived. "You've got to congratulate me!" enthuses Rademacher. "We have to go and get real flowers, because we don't have any real ones [in the house], so she's upset"
Unfortunately, flowers aren't going to solve this couple's quandary, "She doesn't get the fact that you can't marry your uncle, but hey," laughs Rademacher, beaming with joy over his 3 year old niece. "She insists she wants to marry her Uncle Ingo!"
General Hospital's Jax might revel in his playboy solitude, but it's clear that Rademacher prefers the simple life. He'd take home and hearth over resorts and Lear jets any day, and would rather spend time with friends and family than wining and dining his way through the Hollywood cocktail party circuit. Putting his money where his mouth is, Rademacher recently built a huge new house for himself, one that he quickly populated with family and friends. At the time of this interview, Rademacher's sister, brother-in-law, and their four children -- including newborn twin girls -- were staying with him, along with his parents, his best friends from Australia and their three children (including another set of twins).
While all these kids might put a crimp in Jax's freewheeling style, Rademacher couldn't be happier to have his house -- which his mother helped him design -- filled to capacity. "That's why I built it," asserts Rademacher. So it's good to see that everyone is enjoying it. I did the rough layout, and then we worked out the [details] together," he explains. "She does a lot of feng shui designs. Essentially, I built it like a big spa. It's got saunas and steam rooms and Jacuzzis all over, and we're just six blocks from the ocean. I'm still not quite done. There's a lot of little things that I'm trying to nail down before the end of the year." No pun intended, as Rademacher seriously aspires to host everyone for the Christmas holiday.
At least for today, he's focused on the joys of being a "groom." However, he freely admits to the benefits of being "just" their uncle. He can enjoy them much as he likes, yet at the end of the day, he gets to "give 'em back. I see how tough it is to manage all those kids, and especially now having the twins. I had no idea." Is all of this time playing Uncle Ingo stroking Rademacher's own parental instinct? "I haven't changed any diapers yet, so that tells you right there," he responds with a laugh.
If he's not ready to be a father yet in real life, how about playing one on TV? It's interesting to note that while Sonny has impregnated half of Port Charles, the equally libidinal Jax has yet to sire a single kid after all these years. But that's just fine with Rademacher. " I don't think they'd do that with Jax quite yet," muses Rademacher. "They want to keep him the good guy, the knight in shining armor who doesn't make those mistakes. I really think they're trying to keep Jax like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman."
While babies may not be up Jax's alley, Rademacher would welcome other family for his character. In fact, he was upset when they killed off Jax's father. "Geez, that was a big payoff, wasn't it?" he asks sarcastically. "It was such a waste. I was really, really pissed off about that. They don't even play on that very often. We did one scene in the hospital, he died, there was a funeral and that was it."
Despite bumps like that along the road, after eight years of playing GH's mischievous but kindhearted playboy, Rademacher insists the schtick isn't wearing thin. "It's fun to go to work and do that. I wouldn't want to be some of the girls that have these hard storylines. I had it when Brenda died on the show. It was tough. Three weeks of going to work and having all these emotional scenes was really draining. Some of the girls on the show like Tamara (Braun, Carly) have to do a lot of crying and that's tough. The fact the my character is always happy and he's not angry and he doesn't have to go up there and scream and yell makes it a lot more pleasant to come to work. I like that he's like that, providing the light side to scenes. There's plenty of other opportunities for me to play a screwed-up guy. Yelling and getting angry every day is easy. It's the stuff that you're trying to keep real, the everyday scenes that are the hardest to do and make interesting. I try to keep him as real as I can, by trying to connect with the other person in the scene. If you do that, then hopefully the audience will do the same thing. They'll look at it and go, 'He's really connecting so I'm drawn into that.' That's why we have a lot of close-ups on daytime!"
While Jax has spent a fair amount of time in the bedroom, Rademacher would prefer his character spend more time in the boardroom. "A little more business stuff would be great to bring in. To really see what he does, how he wheels and deals. We don't see that every often. We don't see that enough at all."
In real life, the boardroom spells boredom for the veteran triathlete who spends as much time outdoors as his schedule will allow. With the new house, a budding front-burner storyline with Courtney, and family all around, Rademacher seems content to stay the course with GH, though he admits to planning ahead for the next chapter in his life, whenever they may start. "I like the idea of having a farm back in Australia. I've thought about that often, because I really like nature. I was never a city kid. I grew up in the country, and it's something that I need to unwind. I always need to unwind. That's why I built the house with all the spa stuff and everything, because I'm constantly unwinding. In the city you've got radio waves, you've got cell phone waves, sound waves, electric currents. Everything is going through your head all the time. It's very, very busy. When you go out in the country in Australia and you're out in the middle of nowhere, you can't get cell phone service. You've just got a hard-line telephone and nothing else. The tranquility and peace of mind that you can find out there with the birds singing is amazing. Australia really had a big effect on me, because I was there during the important years, from age 10 to 23, where you really do most of your development," explains the German native, who now feels at home here in the U.S. "I've been here for 10 years now. My original plan was to come to America for five years, do some work, go back to Australia and start a production company. But I don't know, once you're here, you get used to it. There's a lot of nice things in LA. But in time, I definitely want to have a self-sufficient place I can escape to where I've got my own creek and running water."
But for now he's content to hear the running water of his Jacuzzi. "The house -- it's like my own little Hawaii."
While Rademacher turns the heads of 3 year-olds, his alter ego finds more sparks fly with older women like Tracy, Alexis and Helena -- at least until Courtney came along. Rademacher believes the veteran actresses' experience gave him more to work with as an actor, "but it's also a personality thing, as well," he notes. "How you get along, how you play off each other, all of that has a lot to do with how you interpret the scenes. And if you've got two actors who interpret the scene in a similar fashion, you're going to get a good scene. Jax hasn't had a lot of success with women, a lot of them have come and gone. I think [the problem] was they'd try to throw him into a relationship too fast." Sam anyone? "They didn't go about that [pairing] the right way," he allows. "They didn't allow us to develop an actual relationship with the characters. It was more of a plot-driven story. But they didn't do that with Courtney, which has been good. People are rooting for them which is a nice thing."
And Brian Frons says....in Soap Opera Weekly's chat on November 1, "This very morning I was pitched a new thrilled starring Jax and Courtney. It's exciting and mysterious, and iwll bring a new character to Port Charles. All the while we will be questioning Courtney's feelings for her ex, Jason. During Christmas week they (Jason and Courtney) iwll be stranded in a blizzard. How they really feel about each other comes out."

COURTNEY: HIT THE ROAD, JAX. Courtney calls it quits with Jax this week on General Hospital after her attempt to surprise him in Bermuda ends in disaster.
"Before she leaves on this trip, Courtney reaches a point where she realizes she has to let go of her past and she has a chance to move on with Jax, maybe even fall in love," sets up Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney). "She's ready to give herself to Jax. She's ready to make love to him and make it official."
But when Courtney arrives in Bermuda, the surprise is on her. "Courtney climbs into bed with Jax," previews Willis. "She starts pouring her heart out to him, telling him that she's ready. She's not running anymore. Then, all of a sudden, in walks this girl wrapped in a towel. Apparently, she's just had sex with Jax."
Courtney is "mortified and hurt," declares Willis. "Here she finally was ready to give herself over to Jax completely, emotionally and physically. It's a huge blow."
Jax tries to explain, but Courtney can't bear to listen. "She's like, 'I should just leave. I should have known this was going to happen.'" By the time Courtney gets back home, "she's blaming herself as much as she's blaming Jax. Jax told her he wasn't going to wait. He thought she was going back to Jason. Jax was probably hurting and that's the way he reacted."
When Jax returns to Port Charles, he runs into Courtney at Kelly's and "they have it out," reveals Willis. Diego shows up and slugs Jax, who fights back. Courtney blasts Jax for hitting Diego. Jax turns the tables on her and hits her with a shocking admission: He tells her he loves her.
"Courtney is definitely shocked," insists Willis. "She's not ready for that, especially with the way things went in Bermuda. Courtney is like, "You love me but you just slept with someone else? Terrific.'"
Courtney tells Jax they're through. "Right now, Courtney is all about protecting herself," maintains Willis. "She's feeling fragile, and she doesn't want to make herself vulnerable to Jax. So she's putting up all these walls. This Bermuda thing made her close up even more."
Diego Moves In On Courtney and Jax. A new man (sorta) comes between Courtney and Jax this week on GH: 17-year old foster kid Diego.
"Courtney is definitely in shock," explains Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney). "She's expecting a 5-year old, and all of a sudden here comes this teenager."
And his attitude puts off Jax. "Jax is blunt and up-front about the whole thing," previews Willis. "He's like, "What's going on?' Courtney is trying not to be rude. She doesn't want to make Diego feel bad. He's a handful, not a sweet, innocent boy. But Courtney realizes it comes from being tossed around so much."
Jax urges Courtney to consider sending Diego to another foster home, but she refuses. Then Diego tries to pull Courtney into a kiss. "Jax pushes Diego away from Courtney, and he and Diego get into it," details Willis. "What's when Courtney snaps and lets Diego have it. She tells him he can't pull this crap with her."
Diego takes off, and Jax persuades Courtney to contact Social Services to have Diego relocated. "Courtney realizes this is a lot for her to handle, that maybe this kid would be better off somewhere else," sighs Willis.
But then, Diego returns, and apologizes. "Diego tells Courtney that he's not used to having anything good and asks for a second chance," says Willis. "She agrees and tells him, 'No kissing, no flirting, no nothing. I'm your foster parent. YOu need to respect me.'"
Jax reluctantly agrees to support Courtney's decision. "He can't ask Courtney to give up on the things that are important to her, like taking care of kids, making her own decisions," points out Willis. "If their relationship is really important to Jax, he'll get through this whole foster hell."
"Courtney plants a passionate kiss on Jason this week on GH -- in front of Sam and Jax! -- but all is not as it appears.
'Courtney is trying to wait it out to the end of her bet with Jax,' explains Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney.) 'Jax has pulled her in and swept her off her feet. She's falling for him. More so than giving in to him physically, she's afraid of giving in to him emotionally.'
So Courtney pulls out all the stops not to be lured into Jax's web. First, she poses as a nun to get away from Jax, who in turn, poses as a priest to hear Courtney's racy confession.
'Courtney knows that Jax is sitting on the other side [of the confessional]', previews Willis. 'She decides to mess with his head and play with him. She puts on this whole show saying, 'I really want Jax. I can't resist him.' Courtney knows this will get Jax going. She's playing games with him and having fun.'
Courtney later heads for Kelly's, with Jax hot on her trail. 'Courtney sees Jax, then literally runts right into Jason,' says Willis. 'In that second, without even thinking, Courtney grabs Jason and kisses him. If she had had time to think, it's not something she would have done in a million years. As soon as it's over, she's like, 'That's the dumbest thing I've ever done.'
Courtney realizes that she hurt Jason by using him to make Jax back off. Yet, 'She's not heartless,' insists Willis. 'She realizes that she just used a person that she cares about more than anything to help her win this silly bet. She feels lower than low.'
Jax tells Courtney that he's ready to take another shot at love with her, and it has nothing to do with their bet. 'A part of Courtney believes him,' acknowledges Willis. 'But another part of her holds up that defense mechanism. She doesn't have the best luck with love.'
But when the clock strikes midnight and the bet is officially over, Courtney pulls Jax into a kiss. 'She's waited and waited and waited. She can only take so much, ' laughs Willis. 'So, she gives in. She's like, 'I deserve this. I'm going to treat myself. Why not?'
But exactly how much does she treat herself?"
The List: Comments from the peanut gallery. Reality Ripoff. First, L & B held an American Idol contest. Now everyone on GH is competing to be The Benefactor of Lila's will. What's next? Jax as The Bachelor?
Some actors deal with time on the back burner by taking an extended vacation or picking up a new hobby. General Hospital's Wally Kurth (Ned) took on the challenge of creating, executive producing and hosting his own soap opera interview show, SOAPnet's 1 Day With...
...1 Day With premieres September 4 on SOAPnet at 6:30 p.m. EDT. First up? Kurth's pal and co-star Ingo Rademacher (Jax).
In the Weekly/Digest Chat Rooms, Jax and Courtney has fans but also people not happy with their pairing. Discussion is shown for both sides.
Ingo participated in the 2004 AVP Event at Hermosa Beach. We elected to leave the entire image undisturbed rather than delete pictures of other star events.
Other pictures of the event can be found at Getty images. Thanks to Karen H. for this second link.

There had been an article SoapOperaWeekly.com about Ingo at "Heal the Bay." The printed version of the August 10 magazine refers readers to it. Unfortunately, by the time the magazine was printed, the GH article in the online magazine had changed to items pertaining to the Fan Club Luncheon.
There is an article entitled "Romance Roulette." It discusses the new couples created on GH in record time. It says ..."Courtney is playing footsie with Jax." Later in the article Jill Farren Phelps says "your favorite couples will never be the same." She says that one of the most unexpected combinations was Jax and Courtney and that they are growing on the audience. Courtney was pulled from Jason's shadow to strengthen her. She started her foundation, and Jax is completely intrigued with her.
In the Public Opinion Section, a writer says, "GH has struck gold with the pairing of Jax and Courtney. They are sexy, playful, charming and romantic. I hope the writers give Jax and Courtney a real chance together. They deserve their own storyline outside of the mob."
Winners and Losers: Win: GH's Courtney. Jax or $10 million? A win-win situation.
Wish I'd said that. Jax tells Courtney that Jason didn't sleep with Sam to be noble. Jax: "It was a sleazy round of mattress tag with a slut."

Hometown: Iserlohn-Lethmathe, West Germany Birthday: April 22 Romantic Status: "Single. I'm not even dating anymore. I'm pretty much celibate. I can definitely say I'm a born-again virgin right now." What possession could you not live without? "I'm not attached to anything. If we went back to living like apes, I'd be very happy with that. I have a lot of toys, but they don't rule me, by any means. I have fun doing my motorcycling and surfing. But I don't have an obsession about anything. Is there anyone's career that you'd like to emulate? "I have my own visions, my own ideas of where I want to be, what I want to be doing within the next five to ten years. What I'd eventually like to do is write projects every now and then, and hopefully get them made, as well as doing other films on the side that other people write. I have some great ideas for films. Hopefully, this show will give me a little more time to do that." What would your definition of romance have to include? "Stimulation...in every possible way." |

Timeline: GH's Jax, Ladies Man in Soap Opera Digest/Weekly online. This brings back many memories.
January 5, 2005 TV Guide Online features an interview with Ingo.
"Though eagerly anticipated--well, by me, at least--SoapNet's new bio-series Soapography (Saturdays, 6pm/ET) is a waste of a swell idea. Oh, the producers find great material all right, like Maurice Benard's manic-depression, Deidre Hall's baby woes and Alison Sweeny's weight issues. But unfortunately, those personal dramas are given a slick, empty, simpleminded presentation.
I have a hunch we'll learn much more about the stars on another new SoapNet series, 1 Day With..(premiering Saturday, 9/4, 6:30 pm/ET). Fun, frisky and surprisingly personal, this scriptless reality show is produced and hosted by General Hospital's Wally Kurth (Ned). His first "victim" is GH costar Ingo Rademacher (Jax), whom Kurth literally rousts out of bed on a Saturday morning. They then go kayaking, make breakfast, ride motorbokes and spend the day shooting some fascinating bull. They even go shopping for metrosexual clothes. Kudos, Kurth. The fans are gonna love it!"
